Chaos is about to strike!

Hey Expecting Twin Mamas… As a fellow twin mum or mama to be! I know how wild and wonderful this journey can be! Here are some tips and tricks I wish I’d had before my babies arrived.

Connect with a Twin Mama.

Spend some time with a mama who’s been there. They have priceless advice that singleton mums just can’t offer. Trust me, their insights are gold, and they have a bag of knowledge that you will remember at 3am to try to calm both babies down!

Get Prepped Early.

Aim to have your nursery and hospital bag ready by 25 weeks. It might feel early, but when the time comes, you’ll be so grateful you did!

Wrap Up Work Early.

If you can swing it, finish work around 29-30 weeks. Use that time to relax and get ready for the beautiful chaos ahead!

Meal Prep Magic.

Fill your freezer with meals. Seriously, in the future you will thank YOU when you’re juggling two little ones, and your partner will to!(their will still be toast and cereal for dinner some nights ha)

Stay Calm.

Remember, a calm mama means calm babies. Take a deep breath, and don’t forget to enjoy the little moments.

Plan, Plan, Plan.

Being organised can make a huge difference( have the car seats installed the pram set up (took ne a good hour to figure out how to work the pram, get the nursery in order, all baby clothes washes the kitchen ready for a bottle station, baskets of nappies and wipes all around the house even a nappy and spare formula bag that live in your car!!. The more you plan ahead, the easier it’ll be once your twins arrive.

Shop Smart.

Online grocery shopping is a lifesaver, have a recurring list that you know will come weekly, so you wont be worrying if the COFFEE or milk has run out! It saves time and energy so you can focus on your growing family.

Get on a Monthly Subscription.

Sign up for a subscription service for nappies and formula and wipes (Fun Fact-I thought i was going to make my own wipes lol). It’s one less thing to worry about, and those essentials will just show up at your door! (sign up to Multiple Birth club/ Discounts on formula-Nutricia (Aptamil / Karicare)  https://mbc.nutriciastore.com.au/signin)

On-The-Go Bottle Prep.

One of those little hacks I learned along the way that made life so much easier was boiling the kettle every morning before heading out. If I knew we were going to be out for a while, I’d fill a thermos with hot water, so I could easily mix it with the formula when it was time to feed the babies.

This saved so much time and effort when we were out and about, especially when you’re juggling two hungry babies and trying to get everything done. Instead of scrambling to find a cafe or somewhere to heat up water, I always had the perfect temperature water ready to go. I’d just mix it with the formula, and boom, instant warm bottles for my little ones! Honestly, it’s a small thing, but it really made a difference on those busy days when I had no time to spare.

Get Out There.

Don’t wait too long to venture out. The sooner you get comfortable outside the house, the less overwhelming it will feel!

Seek Support.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed or facing feeding and settling challenges, check out a local family centre. They can provide the help you need!

Supplies.

It’s always a good idea to keep backup supplies in your car and at the nanny's house haha. I recommend buying cases of sterilised bottled water( its obviously room temp, have tin of formula, nappies, wipes, and a spare set of clothes. That way, you’re never caught without what you need—especially if you forget something in the nappy bag or leave it behind on the kitchen counter (which, let’s be honest, happens more often than we’d like to admit!). Having these essentials on hand makes life so much easier and gives you peace of mind.

Join a Community.

Connect with your local Multiples Club and join any Twin Facebook Groups you can find. The support is incredible! We have a wonderful Facebook Group too—come join us! We’re here to lift each other up.

You got this, mama! Remember, you’re not alone on this journey. We’re all in this together, and I can’t wait to support you every step of the way! 💪💕
